Arctic Fox

General Description: compact body with short legs and ears, dense fur, bushy tail

Habitat: Alaska and northern Canada

Behavior: the Arctic fox will eat almost anything, it scavenges the leftovers of larger predators, like polar bears

Diet: small mammals, lemmings, tundra voles, seabirds, puffins

Reproduction: sexual maturity is reached after 10 months; gestation period is 52 days; 6-11 pups are born

Interesting Facts: the Arctic fox can run at the speed of around 30 mph
